How to Link NIN to Airtel Line in 2026 (Code, SMS & My Airtel App)

Why You Must Link NIN to Airtel


The NCC ordered all networks to block unlinked lines. If you don't link, you can't make calls, browse or do bank USSD.


Method 1: Using USSD Code (Fastest)


This is the easiest method, no internet needed.


1. Dial Star 121 Star 1 hash on your Airtel line. That is *121*1#

2. Select option 1 - NIN Capture

3. Enter your 11-digit NIN

4. Confirm and submit. You will get "Your NIN has been received" SMS.


Method 2: Using My Airtel App


1. Download My Airtel App from Play Store

2. Login with your Airtel number

3. Tap on the banner "Link NIN" or go to Menu

4. Enter your NIN and submit

5. You will get a confirmation SMS in few minutes.


Method 3: Using SMS


Type NIN space your 11-digit NIN and send to 121.

Example: NIN 12345678901 and send to 121.


Method 4: Visit Airtel Shop


If code fails, go to any Airtel shop with your NIN slip and Airtel SIM pack. They will link it for free.


How to Check if Your NIN is Linked to Airtel


Dial *121*1# and select "Check NIN Status". Or dial *346# to confirm your NIN details first.


What to do if Airtel says NIN already linked to another number?


This means your NIN is already used on another line. You need to visit Airtel office to do NIN swap or unlink.
